I was wondering how to melt glass without using a kiln or blow-torch. I have a charcoal grill and a gas stove at my disposal. I want to make a hole into a bottle , and then kind of “put” something into the hole. How can I make a flame able to melt it? How can i do so that only a part of it melts?
Think of it as me trying to create a “female” hole by melting it, and then also heating around the edges of a “male” piece, and sticking it into the corresponding female hole.
I’ve never done any glass-work before, but I know that there is a problem with cooling. I do not want to pay a lot on supplies, so a kiln and blowtorch are not options. How could I cool it so that it wouldn’t crack?
